I first met Sarah and Matt at Madcap coffee for a consultation….which was lovely as they were easy to converse with, fun to talk to, and since they were new to town, I could provide them with lots of suggestions for fun things to do around town. Oh, AND they hired me to be a part of their day.
It was a day of love – so here’s a little love for all of you!
One of the things I love about Sarah is that she thinks she isn’t photogenic, which is typically a sign that someone IS exactly that. During their engagement photos, I got to share with her, and all of you, just how ridiculously well she does in front of the camera.
And what I love about Matt is….the way he loves Sarah. You can see it in how he looks at her, how he communicates with her, and just how being in his presence is good for her.
We started their very toasty warm day by getting ready – Matt at the JW Marriott, and Sarah in her condo in downtown Grand Rapids. Stylist Jennifer Grace and makeup artist Allison Bower were a fabulous team in helping Sarah look her best – – it wasn’t a difficult job – look at that radiant beauty! Regardless, they did their jobs well.
After tooling around Grand Rapids with the bridal party, we ended up at the lovely Blythefield Country Club for the wedding and reception. Dee Mitchell of Elements of Elegance was expertly handling all the decorations of this simple & elegant wedding. The lush hydrangeas and the striking black accents combined to make this a beautiful outdoor wedding.
Their ceremony was beautiful, and officiated by one of Sarah’s closest friends from medical school. I loved seeing their laughter, and their love for each other be communicated through this sweet ceremony.
Desserts by Lori provided a beautiful centerpiece – Sarah & Matt’s cake. Wow. That had to be one of the prettiest ones I’ve seen! I couldn’t believe they wanted to cut it!
We ended the evening with some dancing (yes, I even got some in), a few sunset pictures, and off Dan & I went for wedding #2 of the weekend.
